Welcome to the Pleasant Grove Church website! I am Bishop Courtney Jones, Senior Pastor of this great church and I am delighted that you are visiting with us today. It is my prayer that as you browse this site, you are refreshed, renewed, and revived!

BISHOP COURTNEY JONES,a native St. Louisan, has served as senior pastor at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, The Church of Koinonia over 20 years. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Ministry degree from the New World Bible Institute and Theological Seminary-Texarkana, Arkansas. Bishop Jones has completed additional work at Colgate Rochester School of Divinity-Rochester, New York and the course work for his Doctoral Degree through the Graduate School of Episcopal Studies in conjunction with Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is currently working on his dissertation. UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP,Pleasant Grove Church (The Church of Koinonia) The Church of Godly Fellowship is now a people-reaching, exciting, bible-teaching, and spirit-filled church that has grown from 150 to over 500 disciples. He has launched educational and economic outreach ministries to revitalize the neighborhood.IN ADDITION TO HIS PASTORAL ACCOMPLISHMENTSat Pleasant Grove, he serves as the State Bishop of Missouri in The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, Board member of the American Baptist Churches Great Rivers Region, and chaplain for the St. Louis Police Department. Bishop Jones has served as chairman of Economic Development for the St. Louis Clergy Coalition, the Advisory Board Member for Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and as past moderator for Area V of the American Baptist Churches Great Rivers Region. He was appointed, by the Mayor, to the Board of Commissioners for the St. Louis International Airport and by the Governor, to the Missouri Foundation for Health. Bishop Jones was honored along with other religious leaders at the White House during President Clinton's administration.BISHOP JONES'dedicated and willing community service has been acknowledged through numerous honors and awards. He is a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. As a gifted preacher/teacher, Bishop Jones is sought after throughout the country.He is married to Tritobia and they have one daughter, Adrien Rose.

To this end, we will promote spiritual development while partnering to enhance the social and spiritual needs of thus said culture and community. (Colossians 1:23)WHAT WE BELIEVEThe Bible teaches, all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and there is none righteous (Romans 3:10). We live in a world that is decaying and moral depravity is becoming more acceptable. Day by day, people are becoming more comfortable with unGodly behavior. As a fellowship we are convinced that Christ is the only hope for liberation. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us of the ongoing conflict between what pleases or displeases God. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 teaches us how to be victorious. Jesus Christ, through His death, burial and resurrection, has liberated us from sin and empowered us, through the Holy Spirit, to live an abundant life in Christ. Reading, studying, meditating on the Word of God is essential to spiritual growth. We must communicate through prayer with our Heavenly Father continually. (1 Thessalonians 5:17) As disciples of Christ, we must strive to obey His command, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. " (Matthew 28:19-20)Worship is a very important part of our Christian walk. Forsake not the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another...(Hebrews 10:25)
